Cats Like Us. Bellingham WA.

Cats Like Us is a fun rockin’ band featuring original music from Bellingham WA, with singer-songwriter Bob Paltrow on keys and lead vocals; Selena Mac on guitar/vocals; Miguel Garibay on bass/vocals; and Stone Jones on drums/vocals.

Performing songs that celebrate life, resilience, freedom, and the inalienable right to have fun and jam. Sometimes humorous; resonant with the pulse of the times——anthemic singalongs to celebrate this rockin’ life—instrumentally innovative and moving, great band chemistry. Memorable songs include All I Wanna Do Is Party, FAFO, High Plains Grifter, Cowgirl, Broken Promise Land—and many more! Cats Like Us also play select interpretations of classic and current rock/blues/punk songs from the 1970’s-2020’s.

Selena Mac

Guitarist and singer/songwriter Selena Mac hails from Sedro Wooley, WA in beautiful Skagit County. Selena has a rich and engaging voice and presence on stage. In earlier days she was known as renowned as the Queen of Karaoke, serenading throughout the county. These days Selena is writing her own blues rock brand of music that resonates with her roots in the mystical landscapes of rivers, mountains and farmlands of Skagit Valley. Selena also fronts the all-women’s trio, the rockin’ Dangerous Curves out of Skagit County. In recent years, she performed extensively with Sacramento blues stalwart Leo Bootes and company. Selena Mac also sits in with many performers around the area, as well as performing solo at venues and towns small and large throughout the Whatcom/Skagit/Snohomish area.
Miguel Garibay

Miguel Garibay

Multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and event producer Miguel Garibay belts out the bass for Cats Like Us, when he’s not fronting and playing lead guitar with his band, the rockin’ Pretty Much Nothing, out of Sedro Woolley Washington. Garibay brings a big funky positive bounce and spark to the stage that is contagious and drives the pulse of Cats Like Us’ pop-punk-rock sound. Miguel is a catalyst-mover-and-shaker in the Skagit Valley indie rock scene, producing shows with some of the area’s best and most innovative bands from the area, especially his band Pretty Much Nothing which is quickly gaining a following in Skagit, Whatcom and Snohomish Counties.
Stone Jones

Stone Jones

Singer-songwriter, guitarist, and producer/engineer Stone Jones (Shadytown Sound Closet) plays drums as his alter ego Pebbles O’Malley in Cats Like Us. Stone, and engaging solo performer and self-described murder balladeer, performs originals and standards. Paltrow says “if you like dark Johhny Cash with even more attitude—who tells stories, the history of music and life—you’ll like Stone Jones.” Jones and Paltrow have collaborated on many projects over the past decade. Stone has a long and storied bedrock connection to the Bellingham music scene. In addition to Cats Like Us and his solo material, he has played with (and/or produced in his studio) with countless Whatcom County luminaries including J.P. Falcon, Paige Woods, Boris Budd and the Bongquistadors, Scott Greene, Vincent Braimes, Matney Cook, Tim Mechling, Jack Mattingly and too many more to count or mention.
